Woodfield Craftivists
They’re all members of the Woodfield (join here if you’d like to be a member) and everyone is welcome.
They share ideas, skills and a lot of laughs. They get together to to combine craft skills and activism - once they decide on their campaign there’s no stopping the creative ways they can highlight and support it. They meet at the Woodfield Pavilion in the upper hall on Thursdays from 6pm.
Drop KATE a line if you’d like to know more, and be introduced to the group before you come

Kate - Woodfield Craftervist…December 2022
I thought I would do a quick review of the year. First of all we have had lots of new members join us - welcome to every one of them. Our first project of the year was for mental health awareness week - smiley badges and post toppers - we got amazing reactions handing out the badges and the feedback on the toppers was tremendous. Over the long hot summer we did our bit to reduce litter on the Common with our gorgeous bags. And then as mainly complete novices and inspired by nothing more than a photo we produced an awesome Christmas tree - which at the very least got Enable to donate to Crisis. We have also started our anti-plastic project which we will complete in the new year. Every project has been totally collaborative and we have learnt/practised so many different crafts over the year. We may not produce the most beautiful needlecraft but we are very effective at getting our message out there - doing good. So I think we have an awful lot to be proud of .
Well done all of us

“First time I spotted Craftivist's presence on the Tooting Common. It was about domestic violence. I felt very curious and moved at the same time. I loved the idea of combining craft and activism. I tried to find out who was behind it but without luck.
The next time I found their work it was about protecting bees from pesticides. I admired it! It was around then I found them online but it took me some time to contact Kate and attend my first session. Now I am part of the group and I enjoy every minute of our creative time together!”
