Collaborative Protest Coat - Repair for our future!

As part of our BIG GREEN WEEKEND come and join our making, mending, creating and beautifying session.

PLEASE Reserve you spot HERE - We need to keep an eye on numbers.

Repairing and reusing your clothes can be the ultimate protest against the wasteful nature of the fashion industry. Join us for this workshop to learn a range of 'visible mending' sewing skills that you can use to make a defiant feature out of your clothing repair.

We'll darn holes in bright colours, patch jeans with contrasting fabrics and threads, and use stitch to add new patterns to old clothing.

Materials and hand-sewing equipment will be provided for you to practice with at the workshops but feel free to bring along any old clothing or textiles you would like to work on as well.

And we'll work together to create our Woodfield Protest Coat - how it looks and how it gets adapted it up to the collaboration of everyone.

This is all part of the Woodfield Pavilion's Big Green Weekend. Check out www.thewoodfield.org to find what else we're up to over 30th and 31st October

We're also working with Tooting RepairFest, which celebrates and promotes local fixing and mending, launches this week! Full details, including how to book events (and a link to a map of local repair businesses) HERE
