Tangled Threads - a Stitch group aimed at Mothers and Parents

Tangled Threads

A stitch group aimed at mothers and parents*

Tuesdays from 11am – 12pm - A chance to pause, connect and reflect through slow, rhythmic stitching.

All materials provided. Aimed at all levels, no experience necessary. A few basic stitches will be taught to allow you to engage in the process of mark making through thread.

We will be hand stitching onto fabric squares, building up week on week, you might decide to work towards something (patchwork blanket/fabric book…), or just enjoy engaging in the process. You are welcome to bring your own fabric pieces to work on.

*Open to all mothers and parents (including expectant parents, grandparents, parents of babies and older children), and those who identify as such, all welcome!

This is an adult-centred group, however, children are very welcome; the downstairs hall is a perfect space for them to explore and play safely – bring a couple of toys and a blanket.

The session is free, coffee and tea provided (just bring a donation for the pot)

If you would like to join or find out more, contact Emma

Emma McGinn is a textiles practitioner and PhD. Her textiles practice is slow and rhythmic; working with cherished fabrics she explores meaning and connections through making. She is a mother to two children, one of whom will be joining the sessions. www.emmamcginn.com
