Saturday Morning Yoga - Em Thomson

Em Thomson Yoga

Em has been teaching yoga for 7 years and is hugely passionate about the human body, health and movement. She is currently studying a degree in Physiotherapy in London to take her study of the body even further, yet her passion is still yoga teaching - she loves the community and positivity that go hand in hand with yoga and hopes that you do too!

She initially trained as a yoga teacher at Sampoorna Yoga in South Goa, India, where she has also since returned to work for the school itself. She then completed her 500hr advanced teacher training with Jason Crandell, who remains one of her biggest teaching influences. Training didn’t stop there: she is a qualified sports massage therapist, she has attended regular workshops in anatomy, biomechanics, injury management and has specific trainings in yoga for beginners and yoga for seniors. Em also runs sell-out yoga retreats and workshops around the UK and teaches on the Path of Yoga Teacher Training School as their guest anatomy teacher.

In terms of style, Em is primarily trained in vinyasa and ashtanga, with a precise physical and functional approach to yoga. She pays close attention to detail, alignment and muscular engagement, whilst her dynamic classes still maintain creativity within her sequences. Expect to work on strength and mobility, with a fun energetic vibe and encouraging atmosphere!

Em’s classes are accessible for all. Modifications offered throughout for those seeking to take it easy, as well as more advanced options for those that wish to go further.
